Refund Policy
Outboard Boat Engines is dedicated to delivering quality products and reliable support. This policy explains the terms for returns, exchanges, damaged items, and warranty claims. By completing a purchase with Outboard Boat Engines, you agree to follow the conditions stated below.

1. Return Eligibility
Customers may request a return for qualifying products within 30 days of delivery, as confirmed by the shipping carrier. To be accepted, all returns must meet these requirements:

  • The product must be new, unused, and uninstalled.
  • All original packaging, manuals, accessories, and components must be included.
  • Packaging must be intact and free from damage beyond normal shipping wear.
  • A valid proof of purchase, such as a receipt or packing slip, must be provided.

All returns require prior authorization from Outboard Boat Engines, either in writing or through your customer account.
Unauthorized returns, items without identifying details (such as order number or customer name), or shipments sent without approval will be declined and held at the sender’s expense.

2.1 Return Eligibility
Returns for Outboard Motors may be accepted under the following conditions:

  • The motor must be unused, uninstalled, and not titled.
  • The product must remain in its original packaging. The outer box may be opened, but all internal and external packaging must be free from damage beyond normal handling or transit wear.
  • All original documentation and components must be included.
  • A return request must be submitted within 7 days of delivery.
  • The return must be pre-approved in writing or through your customer account by BoatMaxOnline.

2.2 Return Coordination and Applicable Deductions
Outboard Boat Engines will handle all shipping arrangements for approved outboard motor returns. The customer is responsible for all non-refundable costs related to the return, including:

  • Return freight charges
  • Manufacturer processing or registration cancellation fees

Units showing signs of use, installation, or tampering will be rejected. Refund eligibility may also be voided if damage occurs due to improper packaging or shipping errors caused by the customer.

3. Warranty and Mechanical Issues
Performance problems or mechanical malfunctions are not eligible for return, as they are covered under each manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty coverage and terms differ by brand.

3.1 Manufacturer Warranty Support

  • Outboard motors include a standard 5-year limited warranty.
  • Electronics and accessories are generally covered for 2 years.
  • Coverage terms may vary depending on brand and promotional offers.

Customers experiencing product issues should first contact customerservice@outboardboatengines.com for troubleshooting assistance. If the issue remains unresolved, Outboard Boat Engines will direct the customer to a certified local service dealer authorized by the manufacturer, such as Suzuki or Honda.

4. Exchange Policy
Customers may request an exchange for eligible products under the following conditions:

  • An exchange will be processed only after the original item has been returned, inspected, and approved.
  • Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs unless the exchange is due to an error by Outboard Boat Engines.
  • Product availability at the time of the exchange cannot be guaranteed.

To speed up the process, customers may choose to place a new order for the desired item and return the original product separately for a refund.

5. Return Process

5.1 Initiating a Return
To start a return, submit a request through your account or email customerservice@outboardboatengines.com with the following details:

  • Order number
  • Reason for return
  • Request type (refund or exchange)
  • Indicate if you require a return label, noting that the cost will be deducted if applicable

5.2 Shipping Requirements

  • All items must be returned in their original condition with complete documentation.
  • Shipping labels must be attached to the outer carton only. Do not place labels directly on the product packaging.
  • Returns may be denied if items are improperly packaged or labeled.

6. Damaged Shipments
Customers must inspect all deliveries upon arrival and report any visible damage to customerservice@outboardboatengines.com within three (3) calendar days of receiving the order.

6.1 Freight and Outboard Motor Deliveries

  • The buyer must inspect both the product and packaging for visible damage before signing the delivery receipt.
  • Any damage must be documented and noted with the carrier at the time of delivery.
  • Shipments must be accepted even if damage is observed; do not refuse delivery.
  • For outboard motor deliveries, carefully inspect all packaging and document any visible damage before signing.
  • Failure to record damage on the delivery receipt may affect the ability to file a successful claim.

6.2 Packaging Requirements for Claims
To process a damage claim, customers must keep all original packaging, including:

  • Outer cartons
  • Internal Styrofoam supports
  • Bubble wrap
  • Cardboard inserts

Outboard Boat Engines will file the claim with the carrier once notified and will work with the customer to reach a fair resolution. This may include replacement parts, a partial refund, or another corrective measure at our discretion.

Outboard Boat Engines is not responsible for loss or damage beyond its control, and freight-related damage does not qualify as grounds to cancel or refuse a shipment.

7. Non-Returnable Items
The following products are not eligible for return:

  • Outboard motors, except as authorized under Section 2
  • Custom, personalized, or modified products
  • Special orders or non-stock items
  • Products that have been used, damaged, or altered after delivery

8. Refunds
Approved refunds will be processed within 3 business days after the returned item has been inspected. All refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.
